Panetta & Associati worked alongside ANCIC – Associazione Nazionale delle Imprese di Informazione Commerciale – in the rewriting of the ‘Code of conduct for business information’. The advent of the Regulation (EU) 2016/679 (‘GDPR’) and the approval of the Guidelines 1/2019 on Codes of Conduct and Monitoring Bodies under Regulation 2016/679 by the European Data Protection Board made it necessary to completely revise the old text of such code (which was an annex to the Italian Privacy Code, Legislative Decree no. 196/2003).
The team of Panetta & Associati that supported the Board of Directors of ANCIC – led by the President Cosimo Elia – also before the Italian Data Protection Authority (the “Garante”), was composed by Panetta & Associati’s Managing Partner Rocco Panetta and the Partner Lorenzo Cristofaro.
The new Code of Conduct, which governs the crucial sector of Business Information, was welcomed by the Garante and approved by its Board, so becoming official and binding.
